  • 5,600 donors gave nearly $3.8 million in 2008/09 - the greatest fundraising achievement in the Foundation’s history; $3.3 million cheque was presented to NRGH in June 2009.

Code Brew

  • Owned and operated by the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation - profits support the mission of the Foundation.
  • Located in the lobby at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH).
  • Provides patients, staff and visitors an hospitable place to meet and take a break.
  • Serves over 3,100 customers per week and employs over 14 staff.

Nanaimo Lifeline Program

  • Owned and operated by the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation - profits support the mission of the Foundation.
  • Provides over 1,200 clients with a “touch of the button” personal emergency response service that provides emergency support for clients and peace of mind for them and their families.
  • Serves the communities of Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Beach.

Facilities

Dufferin Place Extended Care Facility (Nanaimo)

  • Is a 150 bed long-term care facility.

Eagle Park Health Care Facility (Qualicum Beach)

  • Is a 75 bed multilevel family-oriented facility.

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH)

  • Is a designated Acute Care Facility.
  • Has 234 acute care beds, plus 22 long-term care beds.
  • Is the primary care facility for the communities of Bowser, Cedar, Gabriola Island, Ladysmith, Lantzville, Nanaimo, Nanoose Bay, Parksville and Qualicum Beach. 
  • Is the designated regional referral hospital for communities north of Victoria, including Port Alberni, North Island, and the Island’s west coast.
  • Had its beginnings in the late 19th century, in two miners' cabins on Chapel Street. Between 1877 and 1963, the hospital had four more venues before moving into its sixth and present structure, on Dufferin Crescent.
  • Serves a population of over 300,000.
  • Employs approximately 1,700 individuals locally, including 200 physicians.
  • Delivers more that 1,100 babies yearly.
  • Has the busiest emergency room on Vancouver Island.

Trillium Lodge (Parksville)

  • Opened July 1982.
  • Has 106 complex care beds which Includes one respite bed and 6 transitional care beds.
