Paediatric Ambulatory Health Clinic
Good News for Children's Health and Families!
Hundreds of children will benefit from having the best possible paediatric care closer to home thanks to a new clinic at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
The Paediatric Ambulatory Health Clinic opened in early April 2009 thank to a partnership between Child Health BC, BC Children's Hospital Foundation, Vancouver Island Health Authority and Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.
Physicians and other paediatric teams from BC Children's Hospital will travel to Nanaimo and work alongside Nanaimo Regional General Hospital staff to provide their expertise.
This will save hundreds of children and their families from making time consuming and expensive trips to the mainland and Victoria.
The initial funding for this province-wide initiative in selected communities came through a generous $20 million donation from Save on Foods.
