You can express your thanks in a special way, through the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation’s Caring Cup Program.

How does the Caring Cup Program work?
Make a donation in honour of a healthcare professional or department that made a difference to you or a loved one, and they will be recognized with a Caring Cup card from our Code Brew Coffee Kiosk located in the NRGH lobby accompanied with a personal message from you. It may be a physician, nurse, therapist, cleaner, orderly, or any and all members of the healthcare team that made a difference during your time at NRGH.
The beautifully designed coffee card will arrive with a Thank You card and identifies the healthcare professional as someone who made a difference. The card is easy to carry on a lanyard necklace and can be recharged at the kiosk.
The donor will also receive a charitable tax receipt for the balance of the donation, after the refreshment cost is deducted. Recipients will be rewarded in the following ways:

$25 donation = a $5 Caring Cup card will be delivered by Code Brew to the recognized healthcare professional for the purchase of a special beverage, to enjoy at their leisure.
- $50 donation = a $15 Caring Cup card will be delivered by Code Brew to the recognized healthcare professional/department for the purchase of a carafe of coffee (or equivalent).
- $100 donation = a $25 Caring Cup card will be delivered by Code Brew to the recognized healthcare professional/department for the purchase of a carafe of coffee and a tray of treats (or equivalent).
This innovative means of showing gratitude to healthcare professionals will not only benefit healthcare on Central Vancouver Island through donations, it will give recognition to deserving professionals who go above and beyond the bounds of duty.
Caring Cup card rules and regulations
- Card is redeemable for products/merchandise only.
- Unused value remains on the card and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Not refundable or redeemable for cash.
- Card is rechargeable. Additional value may be added at anytime.
- This is not a credit/debit card and has no implied warranties.
- Code Brew is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged cards or any unauthorized use.
- May only be used at Code Brew located in the NRGH lobby.
