The Royal Canadian Legion, Mount Benson Branch #256, recently donated $7,000 to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. This generous gift will help to finance the new Renal Dialysis Unit currently under construction at NRGH.

Nearly 200 runners and their cheering fans enjoyed a sunny morning at the Bastion Running Club’s annual Westwood Lake Relay on October 31. The proceeds from this fundraising event will be directed towards the NRGH Emergency Room Expansion.

Help collect toys for tots, tweens and teens
Royal LePage invites the public to place a toy under the Christmas tree at their Parksville (127 Alberni Hwy), or Qualicum Beach (679 Memorial Ave) offices. Donated toys will be delivered to the Pediatrics Unit at NRGH on December 23, 2009.

Nearly 200 runners and their cheering fans enjoyed a sunny Halloween morning at the Bastion Running Club’s annual Westwood Lake Relay on October 31st. The fundraising event is in its second year and proceeds support the ER Expansion.

Eagle Park opens the front garden gates
Eagle Park Health Care Facility celebrated the Grand Opening of the “Front Garden” on October 21, 2009. Donors, volunteers, family and friends, and residents gathered to cut the ribbon, enjoy cake, and plant a daffodil bulb to bloom next spring.

The RCMP Foundation supports P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth) a program that educates grade 10 students about the consequences of drinking and driving and other risk-taking behaviours.

Handcrafted quilts for Neonatal ICU
A grandmother knits and donates 20 handcrafted quilts as an expression of gratitude for the care her daughter's prematurely born son received at NRGH.
