Philosophy
The Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation was founded as a means for grateful patients and loved ones to "give back " to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and to help our hospital provide the highest quality health care services for everyone who needs them right here at home. Since inception the Foundation has stewarded donations to support improved facilities and has assisted in funding of leading edge medical equipment to ensure our healthcare professionals have the tools they need to do their jobs.
We believe that by working with donors and by being a role model for responsible, ethical giving, we can help advance excellent healthcare in our communities.

Donor relationships
Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation places a high value on our relationship with you, our donors. Without your support we would not be able to achieve our vision (Excellent healthcare, facilities and equipment) and mission (The Foundation creates opportunities for donors to advance healthcare in our communities). We are committed to projects that demonstrate sustainability, specifically for:
- Dufferin Place Extended Care Facility, Nanaimo
- Eagle Park Health Care Facility, Qualicum Beach
- Nanaimo Lifeline Program’s Silent Guardian Fund, Nanaimo/Parksville/Qualicum Beach
- Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Nanaimo
- Trillium Lodge, Parksville
Volunteer Support
The Foundation supports in excess of 100 volunteers who generously give of their time and skills, and is committed to recruiting, supporting and developing our volunteers in all areas of fundraising.
