It’s time to tee off for healthcare. The Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation’s 18th Annual Golf for Life Charity Classic is set for September 10th at Fairwinds Golf Course in Nanoose. All proceeds will be directed towards the Emergency Department Expansion at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). The Foundation has committed to raise $4 million towards the project set to open in 2012. NRGH Emergency had more than 53,000 visits last year in a space designed for 15,000; the NRGH Emergency provides service to the 147,000 citizens in the Regional District of Nanaimo (Bowser to Ladysmith).
