The Royal Canadian Legion Mount Benson Branch #256 recently delivered $2,000 to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation for the purchase of medical equipment at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). The Legion’s Bob Chow explained, “We support veterans’ related services and equipment that our veterans will be using.” The latest donation was possible thanks to poppy funds raised in 2012. Amber Adams, of the Hospital Foundation, said “The 256 Legion has given more than $85,000 since 1990 in support of healthcare. The immense efforts of the membership make a true difference locally; we are very grateful to Legion 256, and everyone who supports the Poppy Campaign each year.”
