Rickwood’s Menswear was the site of a festive night in early December. At a special holiday shopping event the store raised $365 during a raffle for a $500 gift certificate. Terry Boulet won the prize, but the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation was the ultimate winner as all proceeds were donated to help fund the purchase of critical equipment for NRGH. The Foundation raises funds to provide healthcare excellence to the residents of Central Vancouver Island.
The gift certificate was donated by Al White, of RE/MAX Nanaimo, who had initially won the prize himself at Rickwood’s Menswear 10th Anniversary Celebration, but chose to donate it to charity. The store was happy to facilitate the donation and owner Derek Rickwood explained that the Foundation was selected because “there was a greater need in our community” for healthcare equipment.
