April Mathers, Chris Frederickson, and Lyndsay Hunley of the Cottonwood Ladies Golf Club deliver $2,000 donation to Amber Adams of the Foundation
The Cottonwood Ladies Golf Club recently delivered proceeds from their “Field Day” fundraiser success in September. The sold out event hosted 124 golfers to support healthcare through the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. Registration fees, “Buy a Guy” to caddy, and year-round fundraising efforts allowed the Club to donate $2,000 to aid the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH).
Organizers were overwhelmed with the “amazing support” of sponsors who provided prizes, services such as massages at tee boxes, and hole sponsorship. Golfers came from across Central Vancouver Island to participate in the bi-annual event. Since 2005 the golfers have given almost $8,500 to the Hospital Foundation, and this was their largest gift to date. The next Field Day will occur in 2016.
