This year, in order to commemorate the 20th Anniversary, the Hospital Foundation also recognized its longest-giving corporate donor and its longest-giving service club donor. For seventeen years of uninterrupted giving, Quality Foods was recognized as the Foundation’s longest corporate supporter in the Oceanside area.
They have given more than $170,000 to healthcare for the benefit of their customers on Vancouver Island who use Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) as a community or referral hospital. Showing their continuing dedication Ken Schley and Rob MacKay of Quality Foods also presented the Foundation with a $15,000 contribution to the Quality Foods Healthcare Endowment Fund.
Also recognized was Parksville Qualicum Shrine Club, who has given almost $52,000 over ten years for the benefit of the Maternity and Paediatric Units at NRGH. This amount includes the $5,000 the group presented to the Foundation Chair Leslie Sundby at the Recognition Event. Funds were raised, in part, from the sale of their annual calendar which is now available. Foundation President Maeve O’Byrne said, “It is with the steady support of our esteemed partners that we are able to help ensure progressive healthcare is available to Central Vancouver Islanders, we thank the Quality Foods family and Parksville Qualicum Shrine Club for their unwavering support.”
