Dover Bay Graduates have everything to celebrate; finishing secondary school, planning careers, and the long-time friendships they have built along the way. Marking their rite of passage the Grade 12 students held a celebratory “Jolly Trolley Dance” to have fun and raise funds for a good cause. As a result the students collected $1,100 for the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation, and their gift will be directed towards the Paediatric Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). “JT Dance Crew” spokesperson, Jayme Burgoyne said, “this is for the kids, we ourselves are kids.” Denise Pond, Clinical Coordinator of the Paediatric Unit expressed her “gratitude for such a thoughtful group of young people who went beyond expectation to do something good for their community.”
