Each year, people across Canada look forward to the Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign for the delicious sweet treats, but the campaign also raises funds for worthy causes. In fact, 100% of the cost is donated to charity. Over the last six years, local stores in Nanaimo have collected the $1 cookie cost per purchase to help the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation deliver progressive healthcare close to home.
The doughnut chain recently delivered a record donation of $21,560 to the Hospital Foundation. Dave Milne, representing Tim Hortons’ franchisees, explained “The reality of the Smile Cookie program is that it wouldn’t be possible without our guests and our staff. They go the extra mile.” Milne added, “We are all going to be using the services at the hospital one day, so we want to help.”
