The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #256 made their final contribution of 2010 with a $3,000 gift to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation’s effort to fund the new Renal Dialysis Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). While the Unit has been providing renal care to kidney patients since September, the Foundation is still raising funds to purchase haemodialysis machines.
Legion #256 supports healthcare equipment and services that add to the quality of life of veterans and raised their donation through gaming activities throughout 2010. Amber Adams, of the Foundation said, “Legion 256 has been resolute in their commitment to helping their members and this support also extends to any NRGH patients seeking care. The Foundation is incredibly appreciative of this generous commitment.”
