Parksville Qualicum Shrine Club 1st Vice-President Byron Hoover and President Doug Christie deliver $2,150 to Amber Adams.
From Pancake Breakfasts, to Show and Shines, to calendar sales the Parksville Qualicum Shrine Club work diligently throughout the year to benefit children facing health crises across British Columbia and beyond. They are also careful to support the direct needs of kids closer to home by contributing the Paediatrics Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). Doug Christie, Club President, could not be prouder and explained it is “what we do is for the kids, it is always for the kids.” Byron Hoover, 1st Vice-President, added, “We are very proud to be Shriners and this Club, despite our ages and physical restrictions, are happy to be raising a dollar for kids, it means so much to us.”
Since 1996 the Parksville Qualicum Beach Shrine Club has given almost $82,000 to NRGH in an effort to help children on Vancouver Island. Still the group is quick to thank the public who gladly support Shrine Club events each year.
