The Federation’s local Past-President, Judy Brayden, said “In 2009...Chapter members made a pledge to give back to their community until their 25th anniversary. The suggestion that the NDHF would be a worthy recipient for our 'gifts back to the community' was well received. We all have had experiences of convalescing and understand the power of all forms of art in the recovery process. If our work could aid anyone in their time of need, we would all be delighted and grateful."
Maeve O’Byrne, Hospital Foundation President, said, “Barbara’s passion to provide respite for those facing medical crisis is very clear and her beautiful expression of colour and movement will most definitively offer solace to patients and families. The Hospital Foundation is thankful for the promise of healing art from the Federation of Canadian Artists because we know the benefit it offers patients.” Selections from 2009 and 2010, by Regina Seib and Terry Nimmon respectively, now hang in the new Renal Dialysis Unit at NRGH and Helen Webster’s contribution from 2011 can be found in the new Emergency Department. It is expected that the most recent donation will also find a home in NRGH’s newest Department.
