On Saturday, April 18th the Nanaimo Wave Babes Dragon Boat Team is holding its spring Think Pink fundraising event. The group will be accepting donations of recyclable bottles, scrap metal, and discarded electronics at Woodgrove Centre at the big pink bin near Chevron between 9:00am and 4:00pm.
Working in conjunction with Woodgrove Centre, Regional Recycling, and DBL Disposal the paddling team will direct proceeds to the Medical Imaging Department at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) in their united effort to provide state-of-the-art equipment to local breast cancer patients. How can you help? Donate discarded scrap metals such as: tools; ovens; washers & dryers; BBQs; piping. Or contribute unwanted electronics including: desktop & laptop computers; VCR, CD, DVD; record players; car & computer speakers; vehicle audio & video systems; small household appliances; TVs; telephones & answering machines. It’s time to Think Pink while you spring clean! For more ideas on suitable items visit www.regionalrecycling.ca.
