Every September Tim Hortons sells Smile Cookies for $1 in order to help local charities. For the last two years sales have facilitated the purchase of medical equipment by the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. Tim Hortons recently presented $8,680 to the Foundation as a way to “give back to the community”. Over the last two years the Smile Cookies have raised nearly $16,000 for the health of residents living on Central Vancouver Island.
Brenda Rositano, Director of Corporate Relations for the Foundation, said “what a huge impact one week of sales can have on healthcare. This demonstrates how much a part of our community Tim Hortons is, and how committed they are to their clients. The Foundation is very appreciative of their support and to the customers who bought cookies.”
