Raising $4 Million for Equipment
NRGH has the busiest Emergency Department on Vancouver Island!
Over 53,000 visitors a year occupied a space designed for only 15,000 visitors. The newly opened Emergency Department is now a reality thanks to your generous support.
This $36.9 million project is mostly funded through the BC government, Regional District of Nanaimo and the Vancouver Island Health Authority - but you can help us to raise $4 million for critically needed equipment.

Project Overview
The new Emergency Department will be home to Emergency Services (trauma and triage) and Mental Health and Addictions Services (PIC and PES). Psychiatric Intensive Care (PIC) is an in-patient service that will be accessed through admissions from community-based or acute care services. Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) offers out-patient care for those arriving through the trauma doors and experiencing their "first break", reoccuring symptoms, or an addiction issue.
Project Features
Will include natural light, private isolation rooms, and an increased number of stretcher bays for patient comfort and care.
