HELP SUPPORT COMFORT AND CARE FOR RESIDENTS AT TRILLIUM LODGE
Trillium Lodge is an idyllic home-away-from-home that provides a comforting respite for residents and their families on Moilliet Street in Parksville. It has 75 extended and intermediate care beds for long-term and short-term stays and is well known for its breathtaking therapeutic gardens.
Not everyone realizes that the Foundation supports the needs of citizens outside of Nanaimo and across the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN); from Bowser in the north to Ladysmith in the south we are the Hospital Foundation of 140,000 people. In 2007 the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) requested that the Foundation join forces with Trillium Lodge to expand the ability to fundraise for capital equipment and comfort items that would add to quality of life for residents.
Capital equipment and comfort items are requested by staff working closely with residents. Often times, grateful family members contribute a needed comfort item to increase the quality of care for residents. Additionally, Trillium Lodge has an extremely supportive Volunteer Auxiliary that creates meaningful ways in which residents can benefit from services, quality of life care, and participate in programs.
As a result of this united support, Trillium Lodge has become a haven of comfort and care for residents. If you would like to direct your donation towards the needs of Trillium Lodge you can easily do so by indicating that Trillium Lodge is your place to give when you make a donation to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.
