How can I get Lifeline?

• Review important information we will require when you contact us to apply for or order Lifeline service
• Call the Nanaimo office directly at 250-739-5770 or call the Oceanside office directly at 250-947-8213 if you live in Parksville or Qualicum Beach or
• Drop by our offices at 202 - 1801 Bowen Road, Nanaimo during office hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday

How much does the Lifeline Service Cost?

• Cost of service varies in different areas. In the Nanaimo program area (including Oceanside) the costs are:
  • $37 per month monitoring fees
  • $50 one-time activation fee.
  • $5 per month for each extra button for more than one user per household. 
  • $3 per month administration fee for anyone not paying by pre-authorized debit.

Is there a specific length of time that I must keep the service?

• No. The Lifeline Monitoring Agreement has no time clause. The minimum amount of time is one month. After the first month the service is provided on a month to month basis.

Will I have any additional costs such as for maintenance?

• No. All maintenance costs are taken care of by the program.

What can I do if I cannot afford the Lifeline service?

• Lifeline personnel have information on several types of sponsorship for which you may qualify. For information please contact us.

Do I need to give a key to my home to my responder?

• Yes. You need to give access to your home to your responders. Please ask our staff about the options.
