Run for Life is hosted by the Financial Institutions of Central Vancouver Island in partnership with the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. A family friendly fun run/walk for all capabilities, it has been a staple event for the Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation since 2003. Over $300,000 has been raised to purchase medical equipment at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. All funds raised are directed towards equipment at NRGH. Thank you for your support!
About The Run for Life
Over the last decade representatives from each Financial Institution on Central Vancouver Island have joined forces to host the 5K fun run. This is a wonderful opportunity to work together as a diverse, but cohesive group – all for a great cause. All proceeds fund lifesaving equipment, education, and programs for the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). NRGH is a community hospital that serves the needs of more than 160,000 people from Bowser to Ladysmith, but it is also the referral hospital north of the Capital Region, with approximately 400,000 individuals.
Run for Life proceeds have made a true and enduring difference to numerous Departments at NRGH, including the Emergency Department, Paediatrics, Maternity, and equipment purchases for the two new Operating Rooms in the Surgical department, a CT scanner and ICU patient monitors.
By working together, the Financial Institutions of Central Vancouver Island, along with the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation increase awareness, raise funds and promote a healthy lifestyle.
