Photo, from left to right: Archie Hannah delivers 200 furry friends to Kelly Raymond, of the NRGH Paediatric Unit.
Every year, just in time for Christmas, Archie Hannah parks his pickup in front of Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) and recruits a lucky helper from the Foundation office. Together they unload and deliver carefully wrapped, brand-new teddy bears for children visiting NRGH. Last week Archie delivered almost 200 teddy bears to the Paediatric Unit, the Laboratory, and the Emergency Department in time Christmas. The bears are collected and donated by Archie, his friends, and liquor store staff. They provide comfort for kids during a difficult time. Archie’s commitment to the bear run has lasted more than 30 years, and he has delivered approximately $200,000 worth of furry friends to NRGH.
