The Nanaimo Harbour City Seniors Crafty Workers have pulled together, yet again, in an effort to raise funds for healthcare on Central Vancouver Island. Through their Christmas Bazaar Sale and raffled prizes the group earned $1,456 for the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation in support of the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). The group of crafters has donated a total of $8,600 to the Foundation since 2007.
Amber Adams, of the Hospital Foundation, said “this is such a wonderful way to raise much needed funds. Members have a chance to use their creative talent, socialize, and support a great cause.” The Crafty Workers’ latest donation will benefit the Emergency Department Expansion at NRGH. The Foundation has committed to raise $4 million towards the $36.9 million cost.
