The Parksville Coastal Community Credit Union has turned their well-read books into a charitable donation for the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. As a result of a used book sale at their branch the co-workers presented a $680 gift to the Foundation to help fund the New Emergency Department Expansion at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). This most recent contribution means the branch has given more than $21,000 towards local healthcare on Central Vancouver Island since 1997.
Brenda Rositano, of the Hospital Foundation, said “we are very grateful to the Parksville Coastal Community Credit Union for their dedication to providing funding for the purchase of life-saving equipment for their customers, and all Central Island residents. Providing modern equipment requires shared objectives within our Central Island communities and the Foundation is very proud of the partnership we have built with Coastal Community Credit Union Parksville.” She added, “It is clear that they are passionate about helping their customers wherever they can.”
