Al Dreger is clear about his charitable giving; he “supports healthcare and education and will do anything to help the advancement of these causes”.
When an opportunity arose for the RBC Dominion Securities Branch Manager and his staff to facilitate funding through the RBC Foundation he contacted Maeve O’Byrne of the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation to see what was needed at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH).
As a result, the RBC Foundation contributed $7,000 in order to purchase oral osteomtomy equipment for NRGH Surgical Suites.
O’Byrne explains, “This major surgical set is used in facial reconstruction of children and youth born with functional and aesthetic problems. Reconstructive surgery literally changes young lives; both on a functional level and psychological level. This gift was possible thanks to RBC Foundation, but also the staff at RBC Dominion Security. It will make a true and lasting difference to some of our youngest patients.”
