Each year TELUS employees and retirees are invited to give to a charity of their choice through their TELUS Charitable Giving Program, the company then matches the gift dollar for dollar. As a result Sarah Deno and Bernie Boulanger spent last week delivering good news to not-for-profit organizations across Central Island. This included a stop at the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation to present more than $3,000 from employees supporting healthcare close to home. This donation will help a variety of areas, including the Renal Unit and Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH). In 2013 alone TELUS has contributed $6.4 million to more than 2,600 registered Canadian charities, proving their motto “we give where we live”.
